Anamika Kala Sangam presents “Suhana Safar”, a special musical tribute celebrating the extraordinary legacy of the legendary composer, poet and musician Salil Chowdhury. We have recently crossed the birth centenary of this great maestro, making this an opportune moment to revisit his remarkable contribution to Indian music and, particularly, Hindi cinema.
The programme will be a 90-minute musical journey through some of Salil Chowdhury’s most memorable Hindi film compositions, bringing together songs of romance, nature, patriotism, human emotions and the philosophy of everyday life. The repertoire will include timeless favourites such as Suhana Safar Aur Yeh Mausam Haseen, Aaja Re Pardesi, O Sajna Barkha Bahar Aayi, Itna Na Mujhse Tu Pyar Badha, Ae Mere Pyare Watan, Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye, Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli, Rajnigandha Phool Tumhare and several other cherished compositions.

A particularly significant feature of the programme will be the involvement of Debojyoti Mishra, an accomplished composer, violinist and disciple of Salil Chowdhury, who will conduct and musically lead the show. His association with Salil Chowdhury adds authenticity, depth and a personal musical connection to the tribute. The principle singers of the show are Rupankar Bagchi, Anwesha Dutta Gupta, Sonakshi Kar and Arfin Rana.
