Sangam hosted an unforgettable evening at Kalamandir, Kolkata, on Sunday, paying a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Ghazal maestro, Padmashri Pankaj Udhas. The concert, aptly titled Chitthi Ayi Hai served as a poignant homage to Udhas’s unparalleled contributions to the world of Ghazal music.
The event featured captivating performances by celebrated artists Sudeep Banerji, Kavita Seth and Padmashri Anup Jalota all of whom shared a deep connection with Pankaj Udhas as co-artists. Despite torrential rain on the 18th of August, the concert saw close to 1,000 devoted fans in attendance. The downpour could not dampen the spirit of Pankaj Udhas’s admirers in Kolkata, who braved the weather to immerse themselves in the maestro’s timeless classics. Their unwavering dedication highlighted the deep connection between Udhas’s music and his audience, making the evening all the more memorable. In her speech, Nayaab Udhas expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the city of Kolkata for its enduring love and support. She shared that Kolkata held a special place in her father’s heart, being one of his most cherished cities.
